Our inspector, Robert G. MacArthur, has spent many years in the carpentry business since graduating in 1979 from a 3 year carpentry course at PEI’s Holland College. From framing, roofing, and cabinet building, to high rise construction, Robert has done it all. After spending years in the carpentry business working for others, Robert went on his own in 1991 to operate a successful proprietorship of a carpentry services in PEI. Over the years, Robert has always had an interest in furthering his education and perfecting his craft. He decided on a new direction and created RGM Home Inspection Services in 2005. Robert is proud to be a lifelong learner and continues to renew his qualifications, take new and modern courses, and keep up to date on all current codes and practices. You can feel confident in the experience and attention to detail that RGM Home Inspection Services provides. Robert is also incredibly proud to be a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity. He volunteers his time to help Habitat recipients by giving Home Maintenance seminars, to help ensure the new home owners can be as successful as possible in their ownership. In 2016 Robert earned a Recreation Pilot Flying License through Transport Canada. In 2023 Robert earned through Transport Canada an Advanced RPAS Pilot (Remotely Piloted Aerial Systems) (sometimes referred to as a Drone Pilot). Since 2019 Robert is a volunteer member of CASARA PEI (Civil Air Search & Rescue Association) aiding DND (Department of National Defense) with their Air Search & Rescue program. This civilian program includes being tasked to search for downed aircraft from in the air with airplanes / missing persons from the air or utilizing a RPAS from the ground. This may include homing in on beacon signals from ground or air. Robert earned CASARA titles of; RPAS Pilot, Search Coordinator, Safety Officer, Air Navigator, Air Spotter, Ground Homing Operator.
Unfortunately, Home Inspectors in Prince Edward Island are NOT regulated, meaning that anybody can hang up a sign and offer you Inspection services. It is up the you to verify that you are hiring a qualified Home/Building Inspector. As a RHI (Registered Home Inspector) and NCH (national Certificate Holder) with CAHPI (Canadian Association of Home and Property Inspectors), Robert is required to review and upgrade his skills on a regular basis, below you can find a complete list of all the training and certifications Robert holds, making him one of the most qualified Home/Building Inspectors in Prince Edward Island.
